🖋 A start to everything
Hey! Prisca & Guillaume here.
Very glad to see you here and we hope to give you some very useful things until the opening of our life project. Promise, we will go to the end. :) We begin from scratch and we have everything to learn. We really want to keep our all footprints of this huge adventure until the end.
🐾 Why this newsletter?
Now, we found our super spot, we have passed the notary's stage in Poland, we found a car membership to limite our monthly fees, we know with whom we are going to collaborate for the yurt, we have our firsts financials supports, we save as much as possible as we can to get to live one day from this project every day, we try to adapt our jobs to our goals, we also have started our project in permaculture next to the yurt with two amazing girls. You can find them here. For several months now, Prisca's life and mine are a bit like in photography, we are in permanent focus. So... we thought it was the perfect time to launch this newsletter. If we can help you at the same time we are growing weeks after weeks, then we will be the happiest persons in the world. 😍
🌳 🛖 “Beyond the Forest Lane” is a newsletter which talk about our project of Yurt x Permaculture in the forest, from scratch until the opening, at Ciężkowice in Poland 🇵🇱. We are Prisca & Guillaume. ❄️ Break the ice
Prisca is french and polish by her mother. Me, I am a Breton who comes from Ivory Coast. Our lanes have crossed at Rouen in France. At any time we could have imagined going to Poland after one year from our first date in the O'Kallaghan's pub (only the real ones know).️ ☕️ Now, we live in Cracow and it’s been 5 years that we learn every day together, also on us, trying to recalibrate our lives as well as possible.
⚡️ Triggers
They come from Covid situation (like a lot of people we think) and the stunning wedding of our friends, Magda and Mateusz in June 2020. It was in a chalet, in the south of Poland, not far away from the mountains… The view was really wonderful and we really felt out of time. We wanted to keep this feeling again and again. After the wedding, to get over our hangover, we hang out in a forest 20 minutes from our hotel. We had to return early the next morning but we didn't want to come back to our flat, really. I remembered during our way back to Cracow, we couldn't stop looking at all the chalets, wooden houses, barns... And we continued to think about it the following week…
🤯 Are we able to do this?
Next weekend after the wedding, we decided to think for real about how can we change our life. This kind of moment where you have the biggest craving in the world but you don’t know how to do that. You think about the pandemic situations, at how to evolve our professional situations, future. Then some questions like... is this the right time? Could we been able to work on a project together? Do we have enough money saved to get started? Are we able to? The road looks huge and it is. But if we don't try, nothing changes. Insanity is maybe behaving in the same way and expecting a different result.
❤️ Feel
In the beginning, we were thinking of a chalet, and… Prisca remembered a video that made her dream.
“An unforgettable experience with your best buddies in a yurt”.
A very simple idea that spoke to both of us. But that it would be even better, as the years go by, to do permaculture, to move towards an independent way of life and share that with people.
What next?
Ok… So now, how to choose the right spot? 3 months of intensive investigation, without getting cold feet and put the idea away in a drawer.
